Who needs it

Some categories of staff have no entrance and no turnstile: sales reps, installers, couriers, merchandisers, maintenance crews. Their working time is traditionally recorded from their own reports — that is, not recorded at all.

A geofence turns this into something verifiable without becoming continuous surveillance. What is captured is not a running track but a fact: the employee checked in at the site assigned to them, at the assigned time. For most purposes that is enough, and the amount of data collected stays proportionate.

How it works in practice

Technically a geofence is a coordinate, a radius or a polygon, plus the rules attached to it.

• The boundary is set as a radius around a point or a polygon along the site outline — for large sites the polygon is more accurate.
• A record outside the fence is either rejected or flagged for a manager's confirmation — the second is more flexible when sites change often.
• Urban GPS accuracy is tens of metres, so the radius is set with margin; otherwise an employee standing at the door cannot check in.
• A geofence is tied to people and to the schedule: one employee may have several sites, and the rule applies only during their shift.

How this works in Verifix

In Verifix Missions locations are drawn on the map as polygons and tied to employees and shifts. A start-of-work record is accepted inside the polygon, and the task at the site carries a checklist and a photo report — so what is confirmed is not only presence but outcome.

From there the data joins the same pipeline: geofence records land in the same timesheet as FaceID terminal records, so field and on-site staff have their pay calculated under one set of rules.
